AHD ANALOG CAMERAS OR NETWORK CAMERAS ???

This is the first decision to be taken before buying a CCTV system.

4 GOOD REASONES TO CHOOSE IP CAMERAS

WIRING
IP cameras connect to a LAN that can easily be
spread out with switches. On the contrary, in analog systems, all cameras must be wired to the DVR and this can make cabling more expensive, especially in large systems. In an IP system, it is also very easy to connect more than one DVR, which is very burdensome in an analog system

EVERYTHING ON ONE CABLE
Almost all IP cameras can be powered along the network cable (POE) and do not require a power cord such as analog systems. Audio also flows on the network cable without requiring separate wires.

SCALABILITY
Adding a camera or an NVR is easy in an IP system. You just have to connect the new device to any Ethernet port, never mind where it is. In analog systems each camera must be physically wired to DVR and this make any modification more difficult.

WI-FI OPTION
IP technology allows you to connect wireless cameras using wifi.

4 GOOD REASONES TO CHOOSE AHD ANALOG CAMERAS

NO LATENCY
In analogue CCTV systems what happens in the reality is immediately visible on the monitor. In IP CCTV systems some latency, although very short, cannot be avoided.

NO CONFIGURATION
Just plugged in, an AHD camera already works. It does not require configuration and, unlike an IP camera, it can be installed without any computer skills

EASY MAINTANANCE
An analog system is easy to maintain because a camera can be replaced in minutes with another. An IP system needs a configuration that requires knowledge of the network to which the camera is connected.

PRICE
An AHD camera is cheaper than an IP camera of the same resolution.

2 THINGS TO BE IGNORED

RESOLUTION
Some time ago IP systems were able to provide higher resolution than analog systems. This is not actually true nowadays. Modern analog systems, with AHD technology, get to 2/4 MP resolution with same video quality.

WEB REMOTE CONTROL
It is often thought that only digital IP cameras allow remote viewing over the internet via PC or mobile phones. In fact, analogue DVRs allow the same, identical remote functions.

 

  

 

DSE IP cameras are fully digital CCTV devices which can be connected to any hard-wired fullhd ip cameraor Wi-Fi PC network (LAN).
These cameras do not generate an analogue TV signal, but a digital video streaming, ready to be played by personal computers. Monitoring and recording can be done by personal computer, with the software included or by Network Video Recorders (NVR)

CCTV on IP network
With DSE IP cameras you can create a CCTV system without using any analogue TV device. No coaxial cables, video-recorder or TV monitors are required. IP cameras connect straight to a LAN IP network that can be specifically designed for the CCTV system or even already existing and used for PC's communication.
Any PC of the network can monitor the cameras therefore, unlike analogue systems, there is no need of TV monitors.

Power supply
All DSE IP cameras can be powered by a 12VDC power adaptor. All models also support PoE technology which allows powering the camera via the LAN cable, using PoE switches or PoE injectors.

MEGAPIXEL resolution
DSE IP cameras provide
megapixel resolution. The entry level models in the range get to HD 720P resolution (1280x720 pixel). Most models offer higher resolution, from 2 to 5 Megapixel. In the latest years, 16:9 Full HD 1080P video format is getting the most popular standard for high-profile CCTV systems.
DSE has discontinued the production of low resolution IP cameras (VGA resolution).

Hard-wired and Wire-less
If your network includes Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras can be connected to the network without wires. All you need is connecting the camera to an external Wi-Fi transmitter.
Some IP cameras in our range come with a built-in wifi transmitter.

Easy access via browser
To view IP cameras over the network or the Internet you do not need anything else than a computer and an Internet browser like INTERNET EXPLORER

IP surveillance software and NVR
Unlike analogue systems where all cameras are connected to video-recorders, IP CCTV cameras are usually recorded by IP surveillance software or NVR. Recently NVR are getting more and more popular because they make IP system setting much easier.

ONVIF protocol

ONVIF is a very important international standard in the IP video industry, resulting from the cooperation among the most important manufacturers. Using this protocol, DSE cameras can be connected to any IP surveillance software or NVR which comply to the ONVIF standard.
DSE is one of the very few Italian companies being member of ONVIF (see ONVIF MEMBER LIST). Only ONVIF members have the tools to test the full product compliance to the most updated ONVIF standards.  Please bear this in mind when you are choosing your IP surveillance provider.
