These cameras, which come in a totally waterproof aluminum casing, are the best way to ensure surveillance outdoors where a normal camera would soon be damaged by rain, dust or impacts.
This section describes models with long range illuminators which are ideal for filming in large settings and open areas.

Waterproof housing
The camera is protected by e a robust, completely waterproof aluminum casing which guarantees IP67 protection degree. This means that the camera can be exposed to rain without any water getting inside (see the IP table in the tutorial on housings). The black, rust-proof coating, gives these cameras a stylish design that remains intact for years.

Compact size
Another interesting aspect of these cameras is the compact size: the product includes camera, IR illuminator and external protective housing. A traditional camera with a housing and separate illuminator would be much bigger and unattractive For this reason these cameras, originally developed for outdoor, are very often used indoor adding a touch of technology to any decor.

The camera
The cameras in the RE-BCC range use colour Sony SuperHAD CCD (see tutorial) and high end DSP digital electronics which guarantee an excellent signal/noise ratio, over 50 dB.
All the RE-BCC cameras with long range illuminator use high resolution CCD in order to provide high quality video (RE-BCC7: 550 TV Lines, RE-BCC7L/8L: 520 TV lines).
In order to suit any light conditions, including outdoors, these cameras feature innovative electronic shutter technology  (1/100,000 per second).

Versions
The waterproof cameras with long range illuminators are available in 2 versions with different lense and IR range.
RE-BCC7 - 90 m IR - 16 mm. fixed lens
RE-BCC7L - 60 m IR - 6...50 mm. varifocal lens
RE-BCC8L - 80 m IR - 6...50 mm. varifocal lens

The lens
All these cameras use special IR lenses which do not create focus-shift . The range includes several models with fixed and adjustable lens. Cameras with fixed lens are ideal for long distance night view. Cameras with varifocal lens can be used for both zoom and wide angle application.
RE-BCC7 - These cameras come with a 16 mm fixed lens that cannot be replaced.
RE-BCC7L and RE-BCC8L - These cameras come with 6 to 50 mm adjustable lens and they can be set from wide angle (6 mm. - 43°) to power zoom (50 mm 5°). Focal length and focus adjustment can be easily done by external screws without opening the camera case. Unlike other IR cameras on the market, RE-BCC7L and RE-BCC8L come with an AUTO IRIS lens for better performance in any light condition

The infrared illuminator
 All cameras come with a built-in infrared illuminator. Several range of illumination and angle of view are available:
RE-BCC7 - 90 m IR - 15° beam angle - 60 LED
RE-BCC7L - 60 m IR - 5...43° beam angle - 80 LED
RE-BCC8L - 80 m IR - 5...43° beam angle - 190 LED
The cameras have a Day/Night function and provide clear view in any conditions, including complete darkness. Like all Day/Night cameras, these deliver color images during the day. When darkness falls the illuminator turns on automatically and the camera turns to B/W. DSE cameras with long range IR illuminators use state of the art high power LEDs which provide powerful illumination even in large outdoor areas.

Removable IR filter (ICR)
DSE cameras with long range infrared illuminators feature the latest ICR technology (IR Cut Removable Filter) for better image quality both in natural light and with infrared. The IR filter, which prevents color CCD to receive IR light during the day, is automatically removed in the darkness, ensuring great low light performance as well as perfect color rendering with day light.

Double Glass
All DSE IR cameras includes double-glass technology. The front glass consists of 2 different glasses with a splitting ring.
The reason of this solution, much more expansive than traditional rings placed behind the glass, is too avoid any possible refraction of the LED's when operating in night mode.

Auxiliary controls (only RE-BCC7L/8L)
RE-BCC7L and RE-BCC8L cameras come with a few additional controls that are placed inside a waterproof aperture in the back side of the casing.
IR THRESHOLD - The light level for switching from day to night mode can be adjusted.
IR POWER - The power of the IR illuminators can be adjuasted if necessary to reduce power consumption.
AUTO IRIS LEVEL - The level of the autoiris lens can be set according to the environment.
AUXILIARY VIDEO OUTPUT - A short BNC cable (included) can be connected to this plug providing a local video output. This video output can be very useful for setting up the zoom and focus using a portable monitor.
DC VOLTAGE LED's - 3 LED's provide information on voltage status: GREEN LED: 12VDC normal, YELLOW LED: low voltage, RED LED: over voltage (camera stop working to prevent damage)

Audio
For obvious reasons of protection against water, waterproof cameras do not come with a microphone. If you require audio, you can connect an external microphone which is easily fitted between the camera and the Audio/Video connector cable.

Bracket
All cameras are supplied with a convenient swivel bracket for wall-mounting. All brackets include cable management. Unlike traditional brackets, that leaves the wiring visible outside, these brackets with cable management protect the cables from wearing out and against tampering attempts.

Wiring
Like all other DSE hard-wired cameras, these cameras can be connected directly to a TV or monitor by means of an audio/video cable (Audio OUT and Video OUT).
On the back of the camera there is 1 m cable which includes the 12VDC power supply input and the video output (BNC female).
For powering the camera a regulated 220VAC / 12VDC power adaptor can be used. In view of the consumption of the LED we recommend using at least a 2A power adaptor, like model RE-AL5 (not included).
RE-BCC7 has dual-power and accept 24VAC power as well.
To connect the camera to the monitor or video management devices you can use RG59 coaxial cable or twisted pair cables using balun interface
By connecting the camera to an external transmitter like RE-DTX1, with digital transmission, the video can be sent to the monitor without wires.
