They are based on the brand-new Novatek Microelectronics NT98539A chipset, a high-end video processor featuring AI neural algorithms, capable of performing advanced video analytics with outstanding accuracy and reliability. They also use the 12MP SONY IMX412 CMOS sensor, which produces ultra-high-resolution images and delivers performance at the highest level of currently available technology.
These AI cameras can recognize people's faces and compare them with a photo database that you can upload to their internal memory using a browser. They can perform different actions depending on whether the detected person is known or unknown. If the person is known, you can, for example, open a door or activate a device through the camera's onboard output. If the person is unknown you can, for example, activate a white flashing alarm or send notifications, emails, FTP uploads or HTTP calls to external software. When using face recognition, the camera should normally monitor an entrance or controlled passage so that faces are captured as frontally as possible.
These AI cameras can monitor abandoned or removed objects. The ABANDONED OBJECT function detects when any object is left behind and remains stationary in the monitored area. This detection is useful in sensitive areas such as airports, military zones, etc. The REMOVED OBJECT function lets you monitor a specific object and detect if it is removed from its original position. This detection is useful in museums or retail premises for protecting valuable objects.
These cameras can count how many people cross a virtual line. The LINE CROSSING, available on many of our cameras, including non-AI models, detects when a person or vehicle crosses a line in a specified direction. In addition, these AI cameras include a COUNTING function that counts the people crossing the line. You can display the counter as an on-screen overlay and, if required, trigger an alert when a preset number of crossings is reached.
These AI cameras can recognize a passing vehicle based on its shape and license plate. The VEHICLE DETECTION detects the presence of a vehicle in a defined area and can perform actions such as activating an external signal or sending a notification. It is useful, for example, for monitoring vehicle access points or driveways. The LICENSE PLATE DETECTION function works like vehicle detection, but detects the presence of a license plate rather than the vehicle shape. It is useful because it stores images of passing license plates, making them easy to search. Do not confuse this license plate detection with OCR license plate reading, which is a more advanced function requiring our ANPR/LPR license plate recognition cameras. The NO-PARKING DETECTION detects when a vehicle remains in an area for too long and can optionally allow only authorized license plates.
Like many of our other IP cameras, these AI cameras can detect people and certain behaviors. The AREA INTRUSION detects when a person enters a predefined area and is one of the most widely used intelligent detections, now available on all our IP cameras. In addition, these cameras can separately detect ENTRY INTO or EXIT FROM AN AREA and perform specific actions when this occurs. Other detections common to many of our cameras include LOITERING, which detects when a target remains in an area for too long, and CROWD DETECTION, which can notify you when too many people are present in an area. All these detections can target people, vehicles or both and are widely used in both residential and commercial surveillance.
These AI cameras can detect abnormal sounds in the surrounding environment. The SOUND DETECTION function can trigger the usual alarm actions when changes occur in the sound level detected by the built-in ambient microphone. You can set the tolerated volume threshold for both increases and decreases. This is a very useful feature because many abnormal situations are accompanied by a change in ambient sound. For example, you can receive a notification if a door or window is forced open or if an operating industrial machine develops an anomaly.
These cameras can detect tampering attempts by intruders. The ANTI-MASKING function detects if the camera lens is covered by an object or paint. The ANTI-REPOSITIONING function detects if the camera is moved from its original position, causing the field of view to change. These protections address the most common types of tampering and are especially useful when the camera cannot be installed very high and is therefore exposed to this kind of risk.
In intelligent detections based on AI algorithms, camera video resolution is a crucial factor. The higher the camera resolution, the greater the accuracy of video analytics and the longer the effective detection distance. For this reason, our AI cameras use top-level Sony sensors and provide 12MP video resolution, 4000x3000 pixels, at 25 fps more than any other IP camera in our range. Even if you do not need the advanced detections, these cameras are an excellent choice if you want the highest possible video quality.
For day and night monitoring, these cameras feature a night illuminator with an illumination range from 30 to 60 meters. The illuminator can provide both infrared illumination and visible white light. You can select either mode, but the camera is most often configured to illuminate normally with infrared and switch on the white LEDs when a detection occurs. In this way the monitored area normally remains dark with black-and-white imaging and lights up brightly when an event is detected, switching to color imaging. The white LEDs can also be switched on suddenly during the day following a detection, to provide a local warning of the detected abnormal condition.
These AI cameras can be connected to external devices installed near the camera thanks to their terminal block with 1 alarm input and 1 alarm output. With the alarm output you can, for example, switch on a warning light, activate an audible alarm or open a door when the camera detects an event. With the alarm input you can trigger an alarm in the camera when, for example, a gate opens or a photocell beam is crossed.
All cameras in this range support POE power over the network cable (IEEE 802.3af Class 3). To operate them, simply connect them to a POE switch or a NVR POE. If for any reason you cannot use POE power, all cameras also have a local power jack to which you can connect a 12VDC power supply. The photo shows the connection cable coming out of the camera, with the RJ45 network socket and the auxiliary 12V power connector.
All RK cameras are weatherproof with IP67 protection. You can install them indoors or outdoors, even in the rain. These models all feature rugged die-cast aluminum housings with baked-on paint. This allows installation virtually anywhere without concern for ambient temperature or corrosion. All cameras in this range use Black Glass front glass, which not only improves appearance but also protects the lens from reflections and reduces attraction of nocturnal insects.

You can also PLAY BACK online videos recorded in the device memory, searching by the date and time you need. All our RK Series devices also support the RTSP protocol, allowing you to view live video with common players such as VLC.
Using the browser you can also use AUDIO and listen to the surrounding environment.

Our free IoVedo.RK software lets you monitor all our RK Series devices from a computer: cameras, NVRs, DVRs and kits. You can use it on the local network by connecting to the device IP address, or over the Internet by entering the serial number, because it supports our P2P CLOUD.
You can LIVE VIEW up to 64 cameras simultaneously and save CUSTOM LAYOUTS where you can receive images from multiple remote devices. You can PLAY BACKplay back videos recorded in the device memory and DOWNLOAD the files. You can also control motorized PTZcameras.

You can monitor your cameras over the Internet from both a smartphone and a computer. Each camera has an ID number and is registered on our P2P cloud server, which you can use free of charge without limits. Thanks to PEER-TO-PEER (P2P) technology, you can connect over the Internet in just a few seconds even if your Internet connection does not have a static IP address and without changing your router configuration. The P2P cloud also allows these cameras to be used with cellular or satellite Internet connections.
These devices can also save recorded images to Google Cloud. Web storage is useful for keeping important images safe from intruders. To use cloud storage, you need to purchase storage space on Google Cloud and enter the connection credentials in the device configuration. You can save alarm-event images to the web, but not continuous recording.

If you are building a new system, for perfect compatibility we recommend our RK Series NVRs which use the same user interfaces, software and apps and also let you configure the cameras' internal options. Although IP cameras can record in other ways, purchasing an NVR is always recommended because it simplifies system management with useful user functions and is very affordable.

Cameras in this series include a microSD card slot. You can insert a microSD card up to 512GB and record video directly in the camera. In the camera configuration you can define the time periods and recording modes. You can also take time-lapse photos (every xx seconds, minutes, hours or days). When the memory becomes full, automatic overwriting of the oldest files is normally enabled. If you have an NVR, we still recommend installing an SD card in the camera because it records under all conditions, even if the network suffers a failure or sabotage.
If you are a software developer, you can use our devices in your projects and integrate them seamlessly with your software. We provide SDK libraries free of charge and CGI commands to control all functions from external applications. If you need to retrieve channel video streams, you can use the standard RTSP protocol.
