SURGE SUPPRESSORS FOR IP SYSTEMS

Voltage surges transmitted through network cabling can cause severe and often irreversible damage to IP camera circuits. Electrical machinery, lighting systems, short circuits, and especially lightning strikes can generate voltage spikes of varying intensity and duration, capable of destroying any camera in a fraction of a second — often without leaving visible signs of damage. In digital CCTV systems, occasional surges are one of the leading causes of device failure, frequently resulting in the sudden loss of the video signal. In many cases, these repeated malfunctions are mistakenly attributed to poor product quality rather than electrical disturbances. Outdoor IP cameras are particularly vulnerable, especially when installed with underground or overhead cabling. If your IP video surveillance system is exposed to this type of risk, these protection devices provide an effective solution. Installed close to the equipment to be protected (camera, NVR, or network switch), they help shield your system from surges and interference, ensuring greater reliability and extending the lifespan of your devices.

RE-PR1

Overvoltage protection for analog cameras

This is an overvoltage protection for coaxial cable, perfect for analog cameras and DVRs, supporting CVBS, AHD, TVI and CVI video format.
It connects to the end of the coaxial cable , just before the device you wish to protect (camera, monitor, video recorder etc.). The product is equipped with a female BNC connector, for the coaxial cable, and a male BNC connector for the device. There is also a ground cable that must be connected to the earth and is essential to guarantee an effective protection.
This product protects your devices against any type of overvoltage, caused by lightning or faults. In case of overvoltage, this surge suppressor is able to switch off in less than 100 ns. interrupting any currents up to 5000A. This lighting protection is able to withstand about 300 overcurrents of 100 A before needing replacement.
This device does not require power supply.
Dimensions: 25x25x78 mm. Weight: 80 gr.

RE-PR2

Overvoltage protection for analog cameras on twisted-pair cable with balun

Just like the previous model, this is also an overvoltage protection device for analog cameras and DVRs, supporting CVBS, AHD, TVI and CVI video format. Unlike the previous model, it is used when the analog video signal runs through a twisted cable, by means of video baluns. This protection is suitable for both passive and active video baluns. It cannot be used to protect network devices, like IP cameras.
This surge suppressor connects between the incoming twisted cable and the device to be protected. It comes with 2 RJ45 sockets (IN-OUT) for the connection of the network cable that is normally used for this type of video wiring. There is also a ground cable that must be connected to the earth and is essential to guarantee an effective protection.

NOISE FILTERS FOR ANALOG VIDEO

The analog video signal, CVBS or high resolution AHD / CVI / TVI, can be polluted by interference due to electromagnetic fields along the cabling. The main causes of video noises are ground loops, due to the different potential of the ground points of the system, as well as AC currents flowing near the video cabling. The protection shield of the video cable is ineffective against this kind of low frequency interferences.
If your video surveillance system is effected by these problems, you can try these video noise suppression filters.

RE-BNCG1

Ground loop isolator for analog cameras

Ground loops can cause serious problems to analog CCTV system, especially in medium / large systems. Small eddy-currents can flow through the cable shield, exploiting the different potential between the ground points of the system, generating unwanted video noises (See tutorial ).
If your monitor displays slightly distorted images or moving bands in the background , this ground isolator can help you because it interrupts the ground circuit, still allowing the video transmission. It connects along the video cable, preferably where the cable that comes from the camera connects to the rest of the system. This isolator is suitable for analogue AHD, TVI, CVI cameras. In addition includes a surge suppressor against overvoltages.
The device requires no power supply.
Connectors: BNC male on camera side + BNC female / terminal block on wiring side.
Dimensions: 49x20x17 mm. Weight: 80 gr.
