BOX cameras are the
traditional CCTV cameras with separate lens. They can be installed indoor or
even outdoor using a waterproof protection casing. Nowadays CCTV systems
are generally designed using waterproof cameras with built-in IR
illuminator. Nevertheless, box cameras are still very popular because they are suitable to all kind of
lenses, even extra fish-eye or power zoom. Our box cameras come
with superior low light performance which make them suitable to day/night surveillance
of large premises where IR illumination cannot be effective.

Analog HD - AHD
AHD
technology is the latest development in the analog CCTV industry and is
supported by all models in this range.
Launched in May 2014 by Nextchip,
worldwide leader in DSP for CCTV cameras, AHD technology brings analog
cameras up to 1MP (HD720P 1280x720) and 2MP (FULL HD 1080P 1920x1080) video resolution. Before AHD, megapixel resolution was only
possible using digital cameras.
Connected to latest generation
AHD DVR,
these cameras provide megapixel resolution, with no latency, still being low
cost and easy to install as standard analog cameras. Like any analog cameras, AHD
cameras can be wired by normal coaxial or twisted pair cables up to several
hundreds meters.
4 in 1 cameras
Besides
AHD, there are other high definition analog standards available on the
market. The most popular are TVI and CVI. In order to provide the maximum
compatibility with all DVR, all our analog cameras in this range are able to
support different standards. So called, 4 in 1 cameras, support all
high definition formats: AHD, CVI, TVI as well as traditional CVBS video.
These cameras are virtually compatible to every DVR you may have. You can easily change the
video format of your camera just pressing the OSD buttons on the back of the
camera. You can also do that from our DVR through UTC control.
High analog video resolution
All cameras in this range are able to produce a composite video output (CVBS)
suitable to any DVR or monitor. AHD cameras provide 1000 TVL
when used in CVBS mode.
Low lux down to 0,0005
lux
Box cameras are mainly used when IR illuminators are not requested. For this
reason our box cameras have been developed to provide the maximum low lux
performance with natural light. Thanks to SONY STARVIS sensor and digital
features like AGC and Sense-Up, RE-TCC5 cameras are suitable to night surveillance
without IR up to 0,0005 lux (see samples on the left). In low light mode, user can
set to still get color video or switch to B/W.
Day&Night and Removable IR cut-filter (ICR)
All cameras in this range include the day & night feature which make
them compatble with external IR illuminators. The day & night function is
made with a built-in mechanism which automatically remove the IR cut-filter
when it is dark. This function is called ICR (IR cut-filter removable)
and provide the day & night function still mantaining a perfect color rendering with day light.
Wide Dynamic Range for backlight compensation
These cameras come with WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE function (WDR).
The WDR function provides better exposure when the field of view of the
camera includes dark and bright areas.
Audio
These box cameras
come without microphone for audio. Should you need audio function, you can
install and external microphone
.
Back panel
All connections are placed in the back side of the cameras:
VIDEO OUT:
BNC
connector for video output
12V DC: Jack
for 12VDC power adaptor
OSD:
Pushbutton for OSD menu
DSP with OSD
The video processing of all cameras in this range is controlled
by a DSP microprocessor. All cameras
come with On-Screen-Display (OSD) which allow the user to set several camera
options.

Setting the OSD options,
the camera can be configured to perfectly suit any environmental conditions. Following main features are available to be set:
VIDEO ADJUSTMENT - Lens type, electronic shutter, AWB, AGC,
brightness, contrast etc. can be adjusted according to the environment.
SENS-UP
/ DSS - Useful functions for low-lux surveillance of dark areas
MIRROR - Image can be
reversed in case of backward or up side down views.
NOISE REDUCTION - Digital video noise reduction
for low-light or poor video signals (2DNR / 3DNR)
BLC DWDR
- Compensation of areas with different light level, like rooms with windows
IR
THRESHOLD -
5 small buttons, conveniently placed
on the back of the camera, allow scrolling the On
Screen Display (OSD) and set all the advanced features of the camera.
OSD remote control via UTC
The OSD button on the camera becomes very often hard to use once the
camera is installed. In order to allow the user to modify the OSD options
conveniently at anytime,
all DSE OSD cameras include a UTC chip which
permits to control the OSD from the other end of the video cable. All our
DN range
DVR include the UTC function and allow to set the camera OSD sitting
conveniently
in front of the monitor.

The
lenses
These cameras are supplied without lens. The user
must choose the most appropriate lens according to the size of the
monitoring area.
Choose the lens for your camera on the
lens page. All DSE lenses
C/CS mounting can be fitted onto this type of cameras. Please choose a megapixel lens if you are going to use the camera
in AHD mode.
Wiring
Like all analog cameras, these cameras can be
connected by wires to a video-recorder (DVR).
A 220VAC/12VDC power adaptor can be connected to
the DC plug to power up the camera. Min 1000mA, fully
regulated, power adaptor is required. Should you prefer to provide the power from a central point you can order a
power supply unit in metal casing.
Video signal must be hard-wired to DVR using RG59 or RG179 coaxial cable
(see cables). Coaxial cable must be terminated
with BNC connectors. Alternatively, the video signal can
also be wired using a twisted pair installing on both ends two
balun converters.
AHD cameras connects exactly as all other analog cameras, but provide HD
resolution only with AHD DVR. 4 in 1 camera can be connected also
to CVI and TVI DVR.
For further information, have a look at the
DSE tutorials which
include several useful lessons about how to wire a CCTV system.
