The cameras in this range are analog high-resolution AHD CCTV cameras. With these cameras you make modern and high-performance video surveillance systems while maintaining the simplicity and robustness of traditional analog video. AHD cameras are the ideal solution to upgrade existing CCTV systems on coaxial cable as well as to build new systems that are very easy to install and maintain.
With the AHD (Analog High Definition) technology, the old analog video, at low resolution, has retired. Combined with AHD digital video recorders, these new generation cameras offer you all the megapixel resolution and remote control capabilities of our digital IP cameras, but in analog technology, fully compatible with all existing cabling. An AHD camera does not require configuration like an IP camera: it connects and works immediately. This is why we recommend these cameras if you want a robust and easy to install system. Below you can see a basic example of a small AHD system.
All of our AHD cameras are actually 4 in 1, which means they can provide 4 types of video signal. The AHD signal is our main format for high resolution analog video. AHD is the most popular format worldwide and is an international standard that allows you to use our AHD cameras with any brand of AHD DVR. CVI and TVI, also called TurboHD, are similar to AHD but used by other manufacturers. You may need these video formats if you connect our cameras to other DVRs. CVBS is the old analog, low resolution video. You have to switch the camera to CVBS mode if you want to connect to analog monitors or old DVRs. You can switch the video signal of the camera by yourself with the pushbutton on the cable or via DVR supporting UTC protocol. Some cost effective cameras in this range come without OSD pushbutton on the cable and the OSD menu can only be set via DVR. Please be sure your DVR supports the standard video resolution before buying these cameras.
The cameras in this series allow you to choose the best video quality in relation to your budget. You can choose among 2MP and 8MP resolution cameras. 2MP video resolution, also called 1080P or Full HD (1920x1080 pixels), is the current standard of high resolution digital TV and meets the needs of most security systems. If you can afford a slightly higher budget, consider our 8MP (4K) cameras that you can use for critical areas that requires the highest definition of tiny details. When designing your system you can mix different resolution cameras based on the importance of the area to monitor. Here on the side you can watch a few demo movies showing the most common video resolutions.
ATTENTION: Our RK Series DVR support different resolution according to model. If you bought an 8MP camera and your DVR does not support it, you can reduce the resolution to 5 or 2MP in the OSD menu or require the camera to be set to your favorite resolution by factory.
All cameras in this range have 2 connectors: BNC plug for video and DC plug for 12VDC power. The connectors are placed at the end of a cable of about 70 cm. which protrudes from the back of the camera. This cable is useful to reach a junction box where connections must be kept protected from the rain. You can supply 12V power with an adapter near the camera or with a central power supply unit. Choose in our range of power adapters the most suitable solution for your system. Consider that the power of the adapter must be higher than the device power consumption. You can transfer the video signal with coaxial cables. Alternatively, you can use UTP network cable with small converters called balun. If you purchase special CCTV combined cables, with coax and power cords in the same jacket, you can wire AHD cameras with a single cable. These waterproof cameras do not have a built-in microphone. If you need audio you can use a stand-alone microphone.
To be able to work in total darkness, these cameras are equipped with infrared LEDs that provide invisible night illumination UP TO 60 METERS depending on the model. Thanks to Smart IR technology, the LED power adapts automatically to the subject distance avoiding overexposure on closed targets. The cameras in this range come with high performance 14μ and 42μ LEDs that provide a high illuminating power while maintaining a relatively low energy consumption. The LEDs turn on automatically below 10 lux. In night mode the camera works in Black White thanks to an ICR mechanism (Infrared Cut-Filter Removable). If you want, you can set the camera to work always in color mode, excluding the infrared night function.
Some of these AHD cameras come with built-in microphone with Audio-Over-Coax. AOC is a very convenient technology that allows you to transfer the audio signal over the video cable avoiding to run an extra cable pair for audio. AOC requires a DVR that supports it, like our RK SERIES DVR. Please note that AOC cameras do not have an external audio output for traditional audio cabling.
The AHD cameras come with a full pack of advanced features. A user friendly On Screen Display, allows you to set the options so as to adapt the camera to your needs. You can adjust the image and rotate it, with the MIRROR functions, in order to suit the area to be monitored. The WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE (WDR) function is useful if you shoot bright areas together with darker areas. With the BLC you can enhance subject on a bright background. The ANTIFOG and DIGITAL NOISE REDUCTION functions allow you to improve shooting in difficult conditions with poor visibility. All these AHD cameras are water-proof, with IP67 protection degree. You can install them both inside or outside exposed to rain, without worrying about extreme temperature or corrosion. All the cameras in this range come with Black Glass front covers which increase the efficiency of LEDs (about 8% more than normal glass) and reduce the attraction of insects at night.
This range includes bullet and dome cameras. Both types can be mounted on the wall or ceiling and can be easily oriented in all directions. All bullet cameras come with the innovative QuickLock bracket, a remarkable step forward compared to our previous systems. Thanks to its innovative steel grooved ball (A) the QuickLock bracket rotates in all directions, but when you tighten the retaining screw (B), it locks solidly preventing the camera from tampering. In all models the connection cable protrudes from the camera base in order to protect the wiring.
To make the installation of the cameras easier, we developed a range of mounting bases that you can buy as an optional accessory. The WATERPROOF JUNCTION BOXES are ideal to contain the terminals, protecting them from water and wearing. All junction boxes come with holes on the front cover for the camera. For the dome cameras, a WALL MOUNTING BRACKET is also available.
In this range of AHD cameras you will find models with fixed lens and models with adjustable focal length. Adjustable lenses, also called varifocal, allow you to adjust the angle of view of the camera. Small cameras for short distance come with FIXED LENS 3.6 or 2.8 mm. These cameras provide a wide-angle view, between 70 and 80°, which is optimal for short distance. All the other models in this range have ADJUSTABLE LENS from 2.8 to 12 mm or from 2.7 to 13.5 mm. With these cameras you can adjust the angle of view from wide angle (about 80°) to zoom (about 20°).
The cameras with adjustable lens allow you to change the angle of view of the camera to better frame the area to be monitored. To adjust the lens there are two watertight screws conveniently accessible from the outside. In the ZOOM models, equipped with a motorized lens, you can adjust the zoom from remote, with our DVRs that support UTC remote control. To move the lens zoom you do not need extra cables because all commands go through the video cable thanks to UTC technology. If your DVR does not support UTC technology, you can use the button on the camera cable to adjust the zoom. These motorized versions also have AUTOFOCUS and allow you to save a lot of valuable time when installing the system. We recommend using these models with motorized zoom if you install cameras in hard-to-reach locations.
These AHD cameras are designed to be connected to a digital video recorder, also called DVR, which has the task of digitizing the video signals of the analog cameras and recording them on the Hard Disk. With the video recorder you can perform all the digital functions of IP systems, like remote control via Internet or intrusion detection with motion alarm. The cameras in this range are compatible with all DVRs on the market, but it is much better that your DVR supports the maximum resolution of the camera (1-2-5-8MP). These AHD cameras come with UTC chip that allows you to adjust the OSD menu of the camera from the DVR by sending commands through the video cable. It's a very convenient function because it allows you to modify the camera options from remote, as you can do with IP cameras. To be able to control the camera menu remotely you need a DVR that supports the UTC protocol, like ours RK Series DVR.
