DSE
Megapixel IP cameras have been develop for network CCTV systems requiring the maximum video quality.
2 Megapixel resolution, H.264 compression and advance digital features make this range ideal for those who are looking for the state-of-the-art technology in CCTV systems.
CCTV on IP network
In the latest years IP technology changed dramatically the world of
CCTV and network surveillance has become a sensible alternative to analogue
CCTV systems. An IP CCTV system is very different than an analogue one:
cameras connect to an IP network that can be made on purpose or even already
existent. Any PC on the LAN can monitor and control the cameras,
therefore, unlike analogue systems, there is no need of TV monitors.
One or more PC with appropriate software can record the videos.
5 times more resolution than
analogue cameras
If IP cameras with VGA resolution (see
product page) provide similar video quality than
analogue systems, Megapixel IP cameras can be considered a dramatic jump ahead in terms of video quality of CCTV systems.
A modern analogue CCTV systems always include a digital DVR where all video signals from the cameras are converted into digital files and stored into hard drives.
The maximum resolution that today DVR's can obtain from an analogue signal is called FULL D1 and is equal to 720x576 pixels, which means 0.4 Megapixel.
DSE megapixel cameras get up to
1600x1200 pixel. This means 2 MPX: over 5 times more an analogue camera.
2 MPX is also much more than the majority of other megapixel cameras on the market that are developed on 1.3 MPX CCD.
1600x1200 resolution correspond in the 4:3 format to the best Full HD resolution of 16:9 TV sets: 1920x1080.
Higher resolution means better view of video details and allows surveillance of large areas with wide angle lenses without compromising the video quality.

video looks like on your PC monitor download our DEMO videos.

>>> DEMO OUTDOOR
It is important to clarify that Megapixel cameras do not need to be used as megapixel all the time.
From the client browser, the user can chose the maximum resolution 1600x1200 @ 15 f/sec or lower resolutions
1280x720, 800x600, 640x480, 320x240 @ 30 f/sec. In this way IP cameras can be managed even on network with low
bandwidth profile or over the Internet.
H.264 compression
A megapixel video streaming includes much more data than a VGA one.
In order to work smoothly and occupy less bandwidth, DSE megapixel cameras use H.264 compression, the latest generation of MPEG4
technology that has been already implemented in a few DVR of the DSE range.
H.264 video streaming takes around 50% less bandwidth than MPEG4, the
compression technology of DSE VGA cameras, and even 10 times less tha MJPEG systems.
Thanks to H.264 compression DSE megapixel cameras transfer 15 f/sec @ 1600x1200 pixel and 30 f/sec up to 1280x720.
All cameras support also the MJPEG format, in case you prefer minimum
compression and you are ready to dedicate large
bandwidth.
Product range
The range of megapixel camera includes several versions in order to
suit any requirement.

Hard-wired and
Wire-less
(RN-606W/H)
If your network has one or more Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras can be connected to the network
without wires and they just need power supply. The small-size camera
RN-606W and the board camera RN-606H come with a built-in
Wi-Fi transmitter (803.11/b/g)These cameras also support cable connection (RJ45 plug).
Other cameras, without built-in Wi-Fi module, can be converted in Wi-Fi using external wi-fi modules.
PoE - Power over Ethernet
(RN-621B, RN-600C, RN-636E)
All DSE IP cameras (except those incl. Wi-Fi) support PoE standards (IEEE 802.3af Class 3).
If your network switches support PoE technology, the cameras can be powered through the LAN cable without the need of individual power adaptors.
In the network has normal switches, external PoE injectors can be used along the LAN cable to power up the camera.
Obviously all these cameras can be also powered by a 12VDC adaptor like
RE-AL4S (not included).
The Wi-Fi models RN-606W/H
do not support PoE and must be powered at 5VDC using the power adaptor that
is included in the package.
Progressive scan CMOS
DSE IP cameras are based on CMOS PROGRESSIVE SCAN sensors.
The great advantage of this technology in IP cameras is that the video sensor provides a direct digital signal and no analogue-to-digital conversion is required.
On the contrary, all CCD's that we widely use in all our analogue cameras, generate a current signal that must be digitalized loosing video quality and increasing camera cost.
Thanks to Progressive Scan technology, our CMOS send out full frames instead of interlaced images like PAL analogue systems.
This gives a better quality view of fast moving objects.
Do not forget anyway that analogue cameras gives a true real time view, while in IP CCTV a short delay between the video and the real action is unavoidable.
2-ways audio
One great advantage of IP cameras is the ability to send audio signal without requiring extra wires.
Audio is packed together with the video streaming.
All cameras in the range come with a built-in microphone and one speaker output.
In the water-proof cameras RN-621B, the microphone is not built-in and an audio input is available
instead.
The RN-636E model, being ideal for videoconference, includes both built-in microphone
and loudspeaker as well as audio input/output to control external audio
equipment.
In DSE IP cameras the audio control is fully bi directional, so from client PC the user can listen into the room and talk to the people in front of the camera.
Day&Night + ICR
All these camera are color cameras with day & night function, so at night they accept infrared illumination.
A few models come with built-in infrared illuminator.
RN-606W - built-in 5 m. IR illuminator
RN-612B - built-in 15 m. IR illuminator
RN-606C - no built-in IR - compatible with all DSE IR illuminator
RN-636E
- no built-in IR - compatible with all DSE IR illuminator
RN-606H - built-in 5 m. IR illuminator RN-621B, RN-600C and RN-636E cameras includes a fully programmable
Infrared Cut Filter Removable function (ICR) for perfect color rendering in both day and night view.
Easy monitoring by browser
To view your cameras over the network or the Internet you do not need anything else than a computer and the
strong>Internet Explorer browser, without need of special viewers.
During the first connection the appropriate ActiveX control is automatically installed for monitoring and managing the cameras.
The user interface includes all configuration tools and it is also possible to save clips and pictures on the hard drive.
Cameras support many other common browsers like FIREFOX and MAC browser
SAFARI but in this case a few options could be unavailable.
Mobile phone control
DSE IP cameras can be monitored by any mobile
phone supporting JavaScripts, like i-Phone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, HTC
etc. Cameras can be watched full screen on your phone over internal LAN or over the Internet.
Remote view using RTSP players
DSE IP cameras support RTSP protocol and can be watched using any RTSP player, like
REAL PLAYER, QUICKTIME, VST etc.
Memory card slot
(RN-600C, RN-606W/H, RN-636E)
RN-600C, RN-606W/H
and RN-636E cameras come with a slot for memory card and can store video images on the base of a built-in
weekly scheduler. It is also possible to start recording in case an alarm is detected by the external input or the motion detection.
RN-600C support SD cards, while other
models has a slot for microSD cards.
Recording video within the camera is very useful for example if you do not
want to use a PC as network video recorder (NVR) or if you want to keep a security backup of your videos.
Thanks to the built-in memory, it is also possible to use these cameras without any connection to the
network just like stand-alone videorecording units.
Motion detection
and E-mail/FTP notification
IP cameras include motion detection analysis and can start an alarm in case an intruder
brake-in.
In case of alarm, the cameras can switch a local alarm output (if available) and send pictures or videos via e-mail or FTP protocol.
Pictures and videos can be also uploaded regularly on a time base for example to update a web site page.
A built-in weekly scheduler is available in order to enable/disable the alarm detection according to the needs.
Alarm I/O
(RN-621B, RN-600C, RN-636E)
A few cameras come with alarm input output
RN-612B - 1 input + 1 output
RN-606C - 2 input + 1 output
RN-636E - 4 input + 1 output
Inputs can be used to connect alarm contact and sensors. The output can activate other
equipment like lights etc. in case of alarm or by manual activation from remote
client PC.
Lenses
All Megapixel IP cameras come with a wide-angle lens.
RN-606W - 4.9 mm minilens - not replaceable
RN-612B - CS 6 mm lens replaceable
RN-606C
- CS 6 mm lens replaceable
RN-636E - 1.25 mm Fisheye minilens - not replaceable
RN-606H - 3.6 mm minilens - not replaceable
The wide angle lenses supplied standard with the products, are widely used with megapixel cameras, because the high resolution allows good quality monitoring of wide areas.
If you want to buy another lens for your camera, the RN-600C and RN-621B cameras can be ordered without the lens (Ref. RN-600CX and RN-621BX).
You can order separately any of the
DSE MEGAPIXEL LENSES and you will receive the camera equipped with your favourite lens.
RN-600C cameras are compatible with all models of lens, while RN-621B, due to the small size of the casing, only accept fixed type lenses
from 3.6 mm on. WWe do not recommend to use megapixel cameras with standard lenses because they would spoil the high resolution of the camera. On the contrary megapixel lenses can be used with standard cameras too.
RN-636E - 360° panoramic
camera
RN-636E is a new concept of network security camera which take full advantage of megapixel resolution.
With its extreme wide-angle Fish-Eye lens, this camera sees 360° without blind spots.
The FishEye original view, which is not comfortable for the user, is digitally converted in several monitoring options than can be selected
from the client PC.

With RN-636E you can monitor a wide area with a single camera: This is ideal
for surveillance of public, commercial and industrial sites. The
technology of this camera enables the user to zoom into the details and even
move its view up, down, left and right. This is called: digital PTZ.
RN-636E is generally mounted in the center of the ceiling, but can be
also placed on walls. Table mounting is also supported for videoconference
applications.
RN-606H - board pin-hole camera for hidden use
RN-606H is the first IP megapixel camera on the market developed for hidden
cameras. In order to reduce the overall size, this camera is supplied
without the case and the board is resin-coated to prevent damages. The
camera comes with a pin-hole lens which is able to see through a 1 mm. tiny
hole and includes the microphone. RN-606H must be powered with the 5VDC
power adaptor included and can be hidden in any suitable object. The
connection to the network can be hardwired or wireless, using the built-in
Wi-Fi transmitter. This camera also includes a MicroSd card slot to
record video on a schedule or motion detection basis.
Video conference
All cameras can be used for video conference.
Up to 10 colleagues can talk to each other with non need of personal computers.
The RN-636E panoramic camera, placed on the table, is able to film all the
people around the table.
User control and HTTPS support
Access to the cameras is protected by a password control. Each camera allows to store up to 20 different users with 3 access levels.
For added security, the cameras support HTTPS encrypted protocol.
PPPoE - Straight connection to ADSL modem
Integrating the PPPoE protocol the IP cameras can be connected straight to an ADSL modem and log-in to the Internet without the need of
other equipment like PC or routers. This is useful if you wish to create stand-alone
surveillance spots that just need an ADSL cable to connect to the world
(e.g. CCTV in public sites)
DDNS
You wish to watch your cameras over the Internet, but you have no fixed IP address? No problem.
DSE IP cameras support the most common DDNS services like DYNDNS.ORG
100% firmware stability
The main feature of an IP camera is the absolute stability along the years.
DSE IP cameras will never leave you down and will be always ready to respond even if monitored on
occasional basis. Each camera is tested for 72 hours in order to pass the
quality test.
Customized GUI
The configuration menu includes tools to customize the Internet Explorer interface by changing colors or including your logo on the web page that appears when accessing the camera.
Free configuration tool
The IP Installer software provided free of charge with every camera, can search all DSE H.264 cameras within the network in a matter of seconds.
With a few click of your mouse you can set the network options of the camera and make it visible to other programs.
Free 36 channels IP surveillance software
Unlike analogue systems that need all cameras to be connected to video-recorders, in IP CCTV the video-recording is usually operated over the network by IP surveillance software.
DSE megapixel cameras come with a free professional NVR software for Windows XP/Vista/7 to watch and record up to
36 cameras.

The software include many control features like:
AUTO CONFIGURATION - The program search for DSE H-264 cameras within the network and configure them automatically.
